Gods Story.

We are told how God, the Creator, supernaturally created space, time and matter – from nothing
– and ultimately life itself.

If a convincing case can be made from revelation, objective moral values or philosophical, scientific and prophetic evidences, we can conclude and believe that the existence of God is probable.

If a convincing case can be made from revelation and historic, archeological and prophetic evidences, we can conclude and believe that the Bible is probably as it claims to be – the Word of God.

If a convincing case can be made from revelation, history, archeology, and eye witness accounts that Jesus of Nazareth was an historic person, and that his death, burial and resurrection historically occurred, we can conclude that He is who He claimed to be, God in the flesh.  He became a man to bear a message from God – of hope and warning – and to provide a unique reconciliation for renewed fellowship with God.

We are told how God the Creator supernaturally created space, time and matter – from nothing – and ultimately life itself.  Despite centuries of effort, man has yet to offer a compelling case for any natural alternative to this explanation of how we got here.

We are told that God created our original parents, Adam and Eve, and placed them in a perfect environment.  They were not designed to die physically.  They were provided everything, but given one simple test of obedience.  Do not eat of the fruit of a particular tree, but they both rebelled and ate.  Because of this rebellion and act of disobedience, God broke off fellowship with Adam and Eve, and placed a sentence of (physical) death on man, and separation from their Creator.

We then, by some unknown method, inherited not only our human genetics from Adam, but also a sinful nature, and with it also the death and separation from God that resulted from that rebellion. (Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.  Rom 5:12)  Does anyone really need to be convinced of man's sinful nature?

Now what?  Man has a big problem.  We are under the curse of death (For the wages of sin is death…  Romans 6:23) and separated from God:  (but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear. Isa 59:2)     Since God is the one offended, He was the One to provide an answer.

We are told that Adam and Eve tried to hide their nakedness (rebellion) with fig leaves (Gen 3:7), and that God, in a hugely significant gesture, made garments of skin (Gen 3:21) to provide covering for them.  This first blood shed is explained (by Heb 9:22) “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.”  This also was reflected in the Jewish sacrificial system and previewed the final blood sacrifice demanded by God – the death of a Perfect Sacrifice – for final payment of mankind's sin.  This happened 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem on a hill called Calvary. (He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.  2 Cor 5:21). Jesus died on the cross for us, in our place, and that is the way to peace with God (..making peace by the blood of his cross. Col 1:20)

We are told that our good works won't help us (not by works of righteousness, which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us...Tit 3:5), but only accepting the free gift God has already provided for us (for by grace you have been saved through faith.  And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Eph 2:8,9), and finally, by an act of belief, placing your trust in Jesus. (For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Rom 10:13)

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16It all begins with an idea.
